Yoga Class Descriptions
HOME Flow
HOME's signature flow class emphasizes both moving with breath and alignment. This combination allows the mind to steady as it focuses on the little details within each pose, while also settles the nervous system as you concentrate on the breath. Sequences are thoughtfully created to lead to a peak challenging pose.
Each teacher has their own way of instructing but all follow the same sequencing principles to bring you safe and sustainable classes.
This is not a beginner class.
Rigorous HOME Flow
Like HOME Flow, this class emphasizes both moving with breath and alignment through a more rigourous flow that will include more vinyasas and more challenging peak poses.
All levels are welcome to come practice and modify approporiately for their own needs.
Nidra
Yoga Nidra is a powerful relaxation practice that can act as a natural stress reliever. Sometimes referred to as “Yogic Sleep” the guided practice brings students to a place where they can experience a deep state of relaxation.
Restorative
Restorative yoga is a deeply nourishing class that uses completely supported and comfortable positions to help settle and reset the nervous system. It is useful in combatting chronic low-level stress or acute stress. No experience is necessary but the ability to be still and quiet is needed.
HOME Flow Basics
This is HOME's signature flow class that emphasizes both moving with breath and alignment but in a format that allows newer yoga students to enjoy the benefits of flow.
All levels are welcome to modify up or down as their practice needs.
Iyengar
Iyengar is a style of yoga which emphasizes anatomical precision and alignment to promote both strength and flexibility. Its use of props (such as blocks and straps) helps to enable students to more readily experience the essence of poses (asanas).
Hatha
Hatha classes dive deep into alignment and require strength to hold poses. Each class has a different focus or theme and includes yoga philosophy.
Yoga Foundations
Yoga foundations focuses on creating a yoga practice that will be the foundation for other types of yoga.
Students will get thorough instruction and feedback, and while they may be challenged somewhat physically there will always be time to relax and unwind at the start and end of practice.
Yin
Yin is a slow-paced class that holds many different stretches with the hope of increasing one’s range of motion. Most of the poses are seated, supine or prone (on the belly or back). Yin strives to bring circulation to the joints and to open the energy channels of the body. More than that, because of the long holds, this class cultivates an inner awareness and mindfulness.
